Celebration of the 115th Anniversary of International Women’s Day, 8 March 2026, at the Ministry of National Defense
On the morning of 6 March 2026, H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi, Minister of Women’s Affairs, attended the celebration of the 115th Anniversary of International Women’s Day (8 March 2026) under the topic “Peace and Security for Women and Families.” The event was presided over by H.E. General Tea Seiha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, and H.E. Tieng Eng Tea Seiha, at the Ministry of National Defence.
On this distinguished occasion, H.E. General Tea Seiha expressed his appreciation and high recognition for the dedication and capabilities of female soldiers in the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, who have played a vital role in fulfilling their duties in service of the nation and the motherland, while contributing to numerous achievements with a strong sense of responsibility.
At the same time, Her Excellency the Minister highlighted the significance of the transforming role of women in response to societal developments. Today, women not only serve on the front lines as members of the army, police, and military police, but also actively contribute on the home front in accordance with their capacities, professional expertise, and potential. Notably, women serve as diplomats, spokespersons, journalists, teachers, and health professionals—the “white forces”—as well as investors and entrepreneurs. They play an important role in supporting and providing services in healthcare, education, and logistics, thereby assisting frontline soldiers and families affected by conflict. These contributions clearly demonstrate that “Women are gentle but not weak, and they possess strong capabilities to contribute effectively across all sectors.”
